Auxiliary Verbs

助动词

You already know that verbs express action or state of being. You also know that verbs have tense, mood, and voice.

动词可以描述行为和状态,有时态、式和语态。

Sometimes, to produce the various tenses, moods, and voices of verbs, you must use auxiliary verbs, or "helping" verbs. Remember that verbs only have five forms, so the auxiliary verbs or "helping" verbs allow us to form all of the various tense, moods, and voices.

有时,想要使用动词的更多时态、式和语态,需要使用助动词。切记,动词只有五种形式,而住动词可以形成所有不同的时、态、式。

助动词怎样体现时态和语态的:

Auxiliary verbs are used to form the perfect tenses and the future tense.

助动词可以表达完成时和将来时。

Auxiliary verbs are used to form the subjective mood, and can help to add emphasis with the imperative or indicative moods.

助动词可以形成虚拟语气,在祈使语气和陈述语气中表强调。

有助动词的句子:

1) I will go to school tomorrow.

   我明天去学校。(将来时)

2) Jim had cleaned before Karen came home. 

   Karen到家前,Jim打扫了房间。(过去完成时)

3) Uma has eaten most of her hotdog for lunch.

   Uma午餐时吃了大部分热狗。(过去完成时)

4) Quinn will be going to the beach next week. 

   Quinn下周会去海边。(将来完成时)

5) If only I had brought my swimsuit! 

   要是我买了泳衣该多好!(虚拟语气)

6) Please, do ask your question now. 

    请现在问问题。(祈使语气)

7) Marvin did take the pencil without asking. 

    Marvin确实没有经过允许就拿走了铅笔。(陈述语气)

8) The coat was left on the bus. 

    外套落在了公交车上(被动式)
